Emergency Response to Hurricane Irma by Kestrel Liner

Dear Members and friends,

As you will have seen Hurricane Irma continues to wreak destruction across the Caribbean – and has caused complete devastation in a number of Commonwealth countries and Overseas Territories including Antigua & Barbuda, Turks & Caicos, Anguilla, British Virgin Islands and now The Bahamas. Barbuda has been totally destroyed.

One of our members Kestrel Liner has a strong shipping business across the Caribbean. Their Chairman and founder Andy Thorne, who is also a CommonwealthFirst mentor, is helping to coordinate a private sector led relief effort.

They would like to hear from anyone that may be able to assist with emergency supplies including tents, shelter, medical supplies, food, water, baby food, communications. They have a ship leaving the UK for Antigua on Tuesday and will take deliveries all weekend and on Monday. Supplies will be on the ground in 10 days.
