Dear Members and Friends,

By time of publishing, I will have just returned from Lagos, Nigeria, where CWEIC ran its first ‘Connecting the Commonwealth’event.

The event, running in conjunction with the Lord Mayor of London’s visit, was designed to bring together Commonwealth business leaders with their Nigerian counterparts. It showcased the best of Nigerian business to the rapidly expanding Commonwealth trade and investment community.

CWEIC Hosts the First ‘Connecting the Commonwealth’ Event in Lagos, Nigeria


Last week, CWEIC hosted the first ‘Connecting the Commonwealth’ event in Lagos; a roundtable and networking session designed to explore and discuss ways to enhance the both the UK and Nigeria’s bilateral trade relationship, and Nigeria’s relationship with the wider Commonwealth.


CWEIC Partners with the British Deputy High Commission in Lagos to host the Lord Mayor of London’s Keynote Speech in Lagos


In conjunction with CWEIC’s event, the Lord Mayor gave a keynote speech on his five objectives for his trip to Nigeria, including the promotion of his ‘Business of Trust’ programme. This was followed by a speech from Hon Dr Okechukwu Enelamah Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment on enhancing Nigeria’s Commonwealth ties.


CWEIC Announces Five Scholarships for Lim Kok Wing University of Creative Technology


CWEIC have announced that scholarships will be awarded to five Nigerian students to attend Lim Kok Wing University. The scholarships, which have been generously donated by the university, will be granted to students seeking to study at a Lim Kok Wing campus in the Commonwealth


LADOL Joins CWEIC’s Growing Nigerian Network


CWEIC is pleased to announce LADOL have joined the organisation as a Strategic Partner. LADOL Free Zone was built on a secure island inside Lagos’ Apapa Port. The state-of-the-art facility occupies a strategic location at Lagos Harbour’s entry point, providing support to heavy industrial projects in Nigeria.

Zenith Bank, Nigeria’s Largest Bank, Join Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council
