The Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC) is delighted to announce the addition of FIRST Exploration and Petroleum Development Company Limited (FIRST E&P) as a Strategic Partner, and welcome Mr Emmanuel Etomi to the Global Advisory Council.

Established in 2011, FIRST E&P has rapidly emerged as a leading integrated energy solutions provider in Nigeria. With a comprehensive portfolio spanning upstream oil and gas operations—including drilling, well completion, testing, and production—FIRST E&P has demonstrated a commitment to operational excellence and innovation. Notably, the company achieved first oil production from the Anyala and Madu fields in October 2020 and April 2024, respectively, marking it as the first Nigerian independent to accomplish this offshore feat.

Beyond its operational achievements, FIRST E&P is actively engaged in strategic partnerships and acquisitions. The company holds significant interests in multiple Oil Mining Leases (OMLs) in Nigeria and is part of the Renaissance Consortium, which recently completed the acquisition of The Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited (SPDC). As part of this new partnership, Emmanuel Etomi, Executive Director of Corporate Services at FIRST E&P, joins CWEIC’s Global Advisory Council. With over 40 years of experience in the oil and gas sector, Mr Etomi brings a wealth of expertise in human capital development, sustainability, and corporate strategy. As a Strategic Partner, FIRST E&P will collaborate with CWEIC to leverage the Commonwealth’s network, promoting energy security, investment opportunities, and sustainable practices across member nations.
