Peter Horton
Chief Executive Officer
Gibraltar International BankPeter commenced his career with Barclays Bank in the United Kingdom in 1984, undertaking various roles with specialisations in Risk, Project Management, and Corporate Relationship Management. In 1999, he relocated to Botswana with Barclays Africa as Risk Director, later establishing and managing the Barclays pan-African Corporate Turnaround function, based in Kenya.
Departing Barclays in 2004, Peter then assumed the role of Director of Corporate Banking with First Caribbean International Bank, overseeing operations in the Bahamas and Turks and Caicos.
Peter has held Chief Executive Officer positions both internationally and in the United Kingdom, initially with the Bank of Maldives, followed by Bermuda Commercial Bank. Returning to the United Kingdom, he led Diamond Bank (UK) and subsequently Al Rayan Bank PLC. He has amassed considerable leadership experience in delivering organisational and strategic change.
Peter holds a First-Class Honours Degree in Financial Services from UMIST and is an Associate of the Institute of Financial Services (formerly the Chartered Institute of Bankers).
