CWEIC Strategic Partner The Phoenix Partnership (TPP) has been awarded a UK Government contract to deliver new digital medical records aimed at improving efficiency and reducing delays in armed forces recruitment and transition.
Announced by the Ministry of Defence, the initiative forms part of Programme CORTISONE, which will introduce a modern, interoperable digital medical record system to support the recruitment process and the ongoing care of service personnel. The programme is designed to enable faster access to medical information, improve continuity of care, and strengthen coordination between public sector institutions.
TPP brings extensive experience in delivering large-scale electronic health record systems across the UK, including within NHS services. Its appointment reflects the growing importance of digital infrastructure in supporting complex public services and improving outcomes for individuals navigating them.
Commenting on the announcement, Charlotte Knowles, TPP’s CEO said:
“We are excited to help deliver Programme CORTISONE. It will foster deeper collaboration between the Ministry of Defence and the NHS – providing insight, innovation and continuous improvements in care delivery.”
The programme underscores the value of effective public–private collaboration in advancing digital transformation, particularly where secure data-sharing and interoperability are essential. By enabling closer alignment between defence and health services, the new system is expected to improve both operational efficiency and the experience of those entering or transitioning within the armed forces.
Across the Commonwealth, governments are increasingly prioritising digital solutions that support resilience, service delivery, and institutional coordination. Through its network of strategic partners, CWEIC continues to support engagement between governments and businesses at the intersection of technology, policy, and implementation, helping to share best practice and encourage practical collaboration across markets.
