CWEIC Chairman Lord Marland Meets With President Of Sri Lanka To Strengthen Commonwealth Engagement

CWEIC Chairman Lord Marland was honoured to meet with H.E. Anura Kumara Dissanayake, President of Sri Lanka, to discuss strengthening trade, investment, and economic cooperation between Sri Lanka and the wider Commonwealth.
The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on Sri Lanka’s economic priorities and to explore ways in which closer collaboration with the private sector and international partners can support sustainable growth and long-term prosperity. Discussions highlighted the importance of strong institutional partnerships, open markets, and investment-led development in advancing shared Commonwealth objectives.

Lord Marland reaffirmed CWEIC’s commitment to supporting Sri Lanka’s engagement with global business networks and to facilitating connections between investors, enterprises, and government stakeholders across the Commonwealth.
The meeting also underscored the value of continued dialogue between public and private sector leaders in addressing economic challenges and unlocking new opportunities for cooperation.
