Ross Buchanan
Agent-General to the United Kingdom
Trade and Investment QueenslandRoss Buchanan was appointed Agent-General in July 2024. Previously, he served as Queensland’s Global Investment Commissioner from August 2019, leading the International Investment Attraction Unit, and earlier as Executive Director of Economic Policy in the Department of the Premier and Cabinet. He has 20 years’ senior executive experience in the Queensland Government across trade, industry, and investment. His roles include Trade and Investment Commissioner to Japan, a London posting covering the UK, Europe and Africa, and leadership of investment attraction and trade functions. A trained lawyer, Ross spent 10 years in firms in Brisbane and Japan, advising on commercial transactions.
