Commonwealth Day, CWEIC at 10 Downing Street and the Commonwealth Day Service

CWEIC spent a productive morning at 10 Downing Street for a Commonwealth Day Roundtable on Enterprise and Investment. CWEIC was delighted to welcome Strategic Partners, and business leaders from across the Commonwealth for a roundtable discussion, led by Myles Stacey, Lord Swire, and Gareth Davies MP. The focus of the discussion was on exploring ways for the Commonwealth and the UK government to enhance their efforts in promoting intra-Commonwealth trade. The roundtable also provided an opportunity to evaluate successes and areas for improvement. Many participants highlighted the significance and effectiveness of robust business-to-business relationships.

Later in the day, Lord Swire joined the Commonwealth community for a celebratory service at Westminster Abbey. The multi-faith and multi-cultural service featured performances and readings from people across the Commonwealth and a procession of the 56 Commonwealth flags. This is the first Commonwealth Day since the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, and the first presided over by His Majesty King Charles III as King and Head of the Commonwealth.
