Robotic Cancer Surgeon, The Royal Marsden | Strategist | Innovator | International Adviser

Professor Mohammed Asif Chaudry is a cancer surgeon, strategist, and international adviser with 26 years’ clinical experience, working at the intersection of complex surgery, policy, and investment. As a Consultant Surgeon at The Royal Marsden, London, the world’s oldest dedicated cancer centre, Mr Chaudry treats some of the most complex international cases. He pioneered robotic surgery for oesophageal & gastric cancer in the UK, co-founded the International Upper GI Robotic Association (UGIRA), and was Joint Lead Investigator of ICONIC, the UK’s first perioperative immunotherapy trial in this field. Internationally, he performed the first robotic esophagectomy in Saudi Arabia and the Indian Subcontinent, and in 2025 carried out the longest-distance remote robotic surgery linking London, Hong Kong, and Shanghai over 20,000km.

 

He is a Commissioner on the Lancet Oncology Commission for Cancer in the Commonwealth, leads on specialist robotic and digital surgery regulation at the Royal College of Surgeons of England, and holds adjunct/visiting professorships across the Middle East and Asia. He has addressed Commonwealth platforms including Heads of Government Meetings, advancing dialogue on equity in health, cancer care, digital innovation, and workforce development.

 

Beyond clinical leadership, Prof Chaudry has advised the UK and international governments on major health capital projects, and works with sovereign wealth funds including the Qatar Investment Authority and impact investment funds on strategies in biotech, AI, and pharmaceutical manufacturing aligned with national priorities such as Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030. He co-founded Omnitivity AI, an Innovate UK award-winning visual AI platform, and develops scalable models for digital health equity, early detection, and frontier healthcare infrastructure.
