The Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC) is an international organisation that works at the highest levels of business and Government to drive trade and investment activities between 56 Commonwealth countries. CWEIC is headquartered in Central London, and has 10 global hub offices serving 150 Strategic Partners (the majority of which are international businesses).

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Strategic Partnership Manager to join our team. As a Strategic Partnership Manager, you will be responsible for business development and account management for CWEIC’s global network of Strategic Partners.

This role would suit someone with an interest in global trade and investment with a client focused approach. The successful candidate will enjoy working in a dynamic results-orientated team, and working with a multitude of businesses with global trade and investment interests, and would bring the ability to work at pace with accuracy, enthusiasm within a fast-paced international commercial setting.

Responsibilities:

– Develop and execute business development strategies to drive Strategic Partner growth and engagement.

– Effectively communicate CWEIC’s value proposition and benefits to senior business and government leaders and tailor Strategic Partner proposals accordingly

– Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective Strategic Partners, including on-boarding new Strategic Partners

– Act as the primary point of contact for a set of key accounts, developing relationships with senior stakeholders and ensuring areas of concern are proactively identified and addressed to ensure renewals

– Identify opportunities for cross-selling and upselling CWEIC services to maximise Strategic Partner engagement and revenue, including sponsorship of major CWEIC events

– Collaborate with internal teams to coordinate Strategic Partner initiatives, including delegation visits, events, and social media promotions

– Work in partnership with CWEIC Advisers/Country Directors on CWEIC board member’s travel including supporting the development of agendas and briefing documents.

– Contribute to building international business delegations to CWEIC events and advocating for delegates in the planning and delivery

– Regularly update and maintain the CRM, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.

– Represent CWEIC at industry events, conferences, and meetings with senior business and government leaders.

– Monitor and analyse Partner engagement metrics to track performance and identify areas for improvement

– Conduct market research to identify potential new Strategic Partners and industry trends.

Requirements:

– Proven experience in business development and relationship management, preferably in an international setting.

– Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport, influence, and interact confidently with senior business and government leaders

– Strong understanding of membership organisations, with previous client-facing experience, and the ability to handle membership-related queries effectively.

– Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

– Proactive and self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

– Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and identify opportunities for growth.

– Degree-level education.

Desirable:

– Experience working in emerging markets (Africa, Asia) and/or Small Island States.

– Previous experience participating at international events, conferences, or delegations

– Familiarity with CRM systems and membership databases

We have a flexible hybrid approach to working with 3 days a week in spent in our central London offices. Due to the nature of our business, there are also occasional evenings, events outside London, and the potential for international travel.
