CWEIC Announces the Launch of a New Hub Office Serving the Republic of Maldives

CWEIC is pleased to announce the launch of a new Hub Office serving the Republic of Maldives.

Mohamed Ali Janah, Principal Advisor to the President, Republic of Maldives will serve as CWEIC’s Country Chair in the Maldives, directing the work of the Hub office and promoting the Commonwealth and CWEIC to the government of the Maldives and the local business community.

Mr Janah is an entrepreneur and developer with over 30 years of experience in ventures spanning the Maldives and the Middle East. He serves as Chairman of Hotels and Resorts Construction and Group Chairman of Hotels and Resorts Investment Maldives (HARIM), a diversified conglomerate spanning construction technology, marine products, and investments, which is a Strategic Partner of CWEIC.

The Hub Office will act as a focal point for Commonwealth businesses looking to explore the investment, trade and business opportunities in the Maldives, facilitating introductions to government and Maldivian private sector.

The Hub office will also support Maldivian businesses looking to explore the diverse and numerous opportunities available in the Commonwealth’s  56 member nations. Maldivian businesses, through the new Hub Office, will have the opportunities to coin CWEIC as Strategic Partners and join event delegations and programme of activity across the Commonwealth.

The new Hub opens at an opportune time for the Maldivian business community, with the Commonwealth Business Forum to be held in Samoa in October, providing an opportunity for the business community to explore the Commonwealth as it gathers in one place alongside the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting 2024.  And for the Commonwealth business community, now is the time to explore the Maldives, following elections the Government is looking to supercharge its engagement with the private sector – and its support for the new Hub Office highlights that the Maldives is open for Business.
