CWEIC Celebrates Commonwealth Day 2024

On the 11th of March the Commonwealth celebrates Commonwealth Day, an annual event celebrated since 1977 on the second Monday of March. The day is dedicated to honouring the shared values and principles which unify our 56 diverse member countries.

This year, the theme is “One Resilient Common Future: Transforming our Common Wealth”, emphasising the importance of leveraging our ‘Commonwealth Advantage’ to nurture a connected, digitally-enabled Commonwealth. This theme reflects the theme for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting which will take place in October in Samoa.

The Commonwealth is built on shared values and supported by historical, cultural and sporting links. Research has found that the combination of these factors offers substantial benefits to trade and investment through the similarities in business, commercial and legislative practices, ultimately making it 21% cheaper to do business across the Commonwealth. CWEIC helps businesses and governments leverage this ‘Commonwealth Advantage’ to create a resilient and prosperous Commonwealth for all.

The Commonwealth Day Message was delivered remotely by His Majesty King Charles III in which he spoke of the shared values of the Commonwealth family of nations. You can watch the video below.
