CWEIC Hosts IoD Nigeria Delegation And Agrees MoU Framework To Strengthen Commonwealth Business Links

In August, the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC) was pleased to host a delegation from the Institute of Directors (IoD) Nigeria, bringing together professionals from across a wide range of sectors.

The delegation was welcomed by CWEIC Chief Executive, Samantha Cohen CVO, who led discussions on the Commonwealth Advantage and outlined how Nigerian businesses can benefit from greater engagement with the Commonwealth. She also highlighted the ways in which CWEIC’s global network can support Nigerian companies to expand their presence both domestically and across Commonwealth markets.

The meeting featured a wide-ranging and constructive exchange of views on key issues for Nigerian businesses, including access to finance, cross-border trade, sustainability, and broader economic challenges and opportunities.

Importantly, the discussions concluded with an agreement on a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) framework for collaboration between CIoD Nigeria and CWEIC. This framework is designed to strengthen trade, investment, and corporate governance linkages between Nigeria and the wider Commonwealth network.

CWEIC values its longstanding partnership with IoD Nigeria and looks forward to deepening this relationship further. Future delegations will be welcomed in London and at CWEIC’s flagship events, as both organisations work together to enhance business-to-business connectivity and foster stronger economic ties across the Commonwealth.
