CWEIC Strengthens Ties with Morocco to Unlock Commonwealth Opportunities

CWEIC’s CEO, Samantha Cohen CVO OBE, recently met with His Excellency Hakim Hajoui, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to the United Kingdom, to discuss expanding trade and investment links between Morocco and Commonwealth markets.

The meeting follows Morocco’s Investment and Export Development Agency, AMDIE, formally joining CWEIC as a Strategic Partner earlier this year. AMDIE’s membership underscores Morocco’s ambition to deepen its engagement with Commonwealth nations, leveraging its rapidly growing economy, modern infrastructure, and strong industrial sectors such as automotive, renewable energy, and agribusiness.

Samantha Cohen said the discussion highlighted Morocco’s potential as a gateway to Africa and a partner for Commonwealth businesses seeking new markets. She emphasised CWEIC’s commitment to facilitating business-to-business connections and government engagement that will help accelerate investment flows and create sustainable growth.

Morocco’s recent progress, including robust GDP growth forecasts of 3.5–4.5% for 2025, major automotive and renewable energy projects, and expanded high-speed rail, positions the country as a rising economic hub in North Africa. CWEIC will continue to work closely with AMDIE and the Moroccan Embassy to showcase opportunities for trade, investment, and partnership across Commonwealth.
