CWEIC’s Nigerian Country Director, Obinna Anyanwu Attends Africa CEO Forum

CWEIC was proud to be represented at the 12th edition of the Africa CEO Forum, held from 12–13 May 2025 in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, by Nigerian Country Director, Obinna Anyanwu. With over 3,000 delegates and 2,500 CEOs in attendance, the Forum served as a critical platform for dialogue between Africa’s leading policymakers and the private sector. This year’s theme — “Can a New Deal Between State and Private Sector Deliver the Continent a Winning Hand?” , underpinned a wide-ranging discussion on Africa’s economic transformation, self-determination, and public-private collaboration.

Following the Forum, Obinna remarked on the quality of discussions, especially those focused on industrialisation, sovereign digital strategies, and inclusive capital. “The Forum clearly signalled a turning point,” he said, “with African leaders and CEOs unified in their message: we must look inward, foster reform, and scale homegrown solutions.”

Obinna joined the welcoming delegation for President Cyril Ramaphosa of South Africa, where he was honoured to engage with the President, securing a widely circulated photo-op and media coverage in ThisDay Newspapers, boosting CWEIC’s visibility in Nigeria.

Obinna also built a strong network of senior contacts from investment promotion agencies and financial institutions across the continent, spanning South Africa, Guinea, Senegal, Tanzania, Mauritius, and beyond. These relationships will support CWEIC’s efforts to broaden its reach and deepen cross-border investment ties.

It was also an opportunity to connect with our Strategic Partners and facilitate connections. Specifically in attendance were Lagos Free Zone, Port of Kribi, Prime Atlantic, and RusselSmith.
