On her third day in Accra, Samantha Cohen, CEO of the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council, continued meetings across government, academia, finance, and industry — reflecting CWEIC’s cross-sector approach to enabling trade and investment in practice.
The day began with a meeting with Hon. Emelia Arthur, Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture, where discussions focused on Ghana’s blue economy potential, sustainable fisheries, and opportunities for investment and knowledge exchange across Commonwealth markets.
Sam also met with CWEIC Strategic Partner Robert Smith Law Group, followed by an engagement with the Vice Chancellor of the University of Professional Studies Accra (UPSA), exploring the role of professional education and skills development in supporting Ghana’s growing private sector.

Sam returned to the Africa Prosperity Network’s Africa Prosperity Dialogues at the Accra International Conference Centre for the final day of the forum, where attention turned to the official launch of the “Make Africa Borderless Now!” campaign.

Led by the Africa Prosperity Network in collaboration with the AfCFTA Secretariat, the campaign aims to mobilise 50 million signatures across Africa and the diaspora in support of removing barriers to the free movement of people, goods, services and capital across the continent — a people-driven call to accelerate the practical delivery of Africa’s single market
On the margins of the event, Sam also met with H.E. Patoky Badanam, Togo’s Minister for Economy and Strategic Monitoring, to discuss how Commonwealth networks and AfCFTA ambitions can align to support economic integration and trade facilitation across West Africa.
Industry discussions continued at the Gold Coast Refinery, highlighting Ghana’s role in gold refining and value addition within regional supply chains. This was followed by meetings with Ashong Benjamin & Associates and the Managing Director of National Investment Bank, Chief Dr. Doli Wura Zakaria, where conversations centred on legal frameworks, banking support, and investment facilitation for businesses operating across borders.

The day concluded with a meeting with Tiryaki Agro, discussing agribusiness trade flows, food security, and the role Ghana can play within wider regional and Commonwealth supply chains.
As part of her cultural engagements in Accra, Sam also visited the historic Accra Arts Centre, officially known as the Centre for National Culture. The Centre is a vibrant hub for Ghanaian arts, crafts and cultural expression, showcasing handcrafted textiles, wood carvings, beadwork and other traditional artefacts — and serving as a focal point for local artisans and cultural exchange in the heart of the city.

Day three reinforced the breadth of Ghana’s economic ecosystem and the importance of coordinated engagement across government, finance, education, law, and industry to support practical trade and investment outcomes.
