Lack of access to finance, absence of innovative culture, cumbersome and costly registration as well as insolvency procedures, lack of market access, inability to meet international standards to compete in international markets are some of the perennial issues that MSMEs in the Commonwealth confront. Although the sector constitutes the backbone of the economy, attention has not been drawn to make MSMEs the engine of growth and incentives to be granted to them.
