Queensland Showcases Innovation And Global Ambitions In London At Reception For The Queensland Finance, Trade, Employment And Training Minister

The Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC) was delighted to join the Queensland Government in celebrating the Queensland Exporter and Friends Networking Reception at Queensland House, London.

Held in the historic Queensland House — a thriving hub for Queensland exporters, investors and international partnerships since 1966 — the event highlighted the state’s dynamic innovation, global ambition and commitment to expanding trade and investment links across the Commonwealth and beyond.

The reception was attended by Ros Bates MP, Queensland’s Minister for Finance, Trade, Employment and Training; Lord Hugo Swire, Deputy Chair of CWEIC; and Elisabeth Bowes PSM, Deputy High Commissioner to the UK. Together with a broad cross-section of business leaders, investors and stakeholders, they celebrated Queensland’s achievements and explored new opportunities for collaboration.

With London serving as a strategic gateway to Europe, Queensland reaffirmed that it is open for business — underpinned by the launch of the Queensland–Europe & UK Trade and Investment Strategy 2025–2028. The strategy sets out ambitious new pathways for cooperation in energy, biotechnology, infrastructure and education, reinforcing Queensland’s position as a key partner in innovation and sustainable growth.

CWEIC looks forward to continuing its close collaboration with Queensland to promote Commonwealth trade and investment opportunities that drive shared prosperity.
