Promethean WorldJonathan McDermott serves as Chief Development Officer for Emerging Markets at Promethean World, where he leads strategy, partnerships, and large-scale education transformation initiatives across Africa, the Middle East, South and Asia.
With over two decades of experience in education technology and government partnerships, Jonathan has been instrumental in driving Promethean’s mission to make interactive learning accessible, inclusive, and impactful at national scale. His work focuses on aligning digital infrastructure, teacher enablement, and education policy to create sustainable, system-wide transformation.
A specialist in developing public–private partnerships and national digital learning ecosystems, Jonathan has collaborated with ministries of education, multilateral agencies, and global technology companies to deliver integrated programs that combine technology, pedagogy, and innovation.
Prior to his current role, he led strategic market development and international partnerships for leading global education companies, helping expand access to quality digital learning in over 40 countries.
Jonathan is deeply committed to leveraging technology as a catalyst for human capital development and believes that empowering teachers remains the single most transformative investment any nation can make in its future.
