The Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC) was pleased to participate in the Equity Group Trade and Investment Roadshow in Nairobi, hosted by CWEIC Strategic Partner Equity Group Holdings. Representing CWEIC, Deputy Chairman Lord Swire joined leaders from across the region for a series of high-level engagements focused on strengthening trade and investment links across East and Central Africa.

The Roadshow brought together more than 300 investors, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders from 35 countries for discussions examining Kenya’s position as a regional gateway and its growing influence in shaping Africa’s next phase of economic growth.

Lord Swire contributed to the Roadshow’s high-level discussions on strengthening Kenya’s competitiveness through strategic partnerships and investment. In his keynote speech, Lord Swire emphasised how the Commonwealth Advantage – shared legal systems, familiar business norms, and trusted networks – positions Kenya to attract long-term capital, expand regional value chains, and consolidate its role as a hub for East and Central Africa. His contribution aligned closely with the Roadshow’s central message: Kenya is not only a market of 57 million people but a launchpad into a connected regional ecosystem of more than 500 million consumers.

The Roadshow underscored the scale of opportunity across African markets—from manufacturing and agribusiness to digital innovation and green industrialisation—driven by strengthened partnerships and a shared vision for long-term prosperity.
CWEIC extends its appreciation to Dr James Mwangi and Equity Group Holdings for convening this impactful programme and looks forward to deepening Commonwealth cooperation as Kenya continues to position itself as a leading centre for trade, finance, and enterprise across the continent.
