Malta’s acclaimed hospitality leader db Group, a Strategic Partner of the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC), hosted an exclusive launch event for Aki London, at the new venue in Cavendish Square. The event was presided over by the Prime Minister of Malta and marked an important milestone for the Group’s international expansion.

Following its celebrated debut in Valletta in 2020 – where it has been listed in the Michelin Guide for four consecutive years – Aki has earned a reputation for its refined contemporary Japanese cuisine and exceptional design. Now, with the opening of Aki London in a Grade II-listed former bank just off Oxford Circus, db Group brings its signature Maltese excellence to one of the world’s most dynamic culinary capitals.

Designed by internationally renowned interior designer Francis Sultana, the 80-cover restaurant offers an immersive dining experience that seamlessly blends heritage architecture with modern sophistication.

Speaking at the event, Robert Debono expressed his pride in the Group’s international milestone:

The launch was attended by senior representatives from CWEIC, including Lord Marland, Chairman, and Samantha Cohen, Chief Executive, reflecting the strong partnership between db Group and CWEIC in supporting Maltese businesses expanding across the Commonwealth.

The launch underscores db Group’s commitment to international growth, with future expansion plans across key Commonwealth markets in hospitality, real estate, and food and beverage.
